“Let’s Talk About Boyz” is a modern evolution of the original guide, first written over a decade ago. Since then, times have changed, and so have the advances as well as challenges facing today’s teen girls.
“This new edition goes deeper to invite open, honest chats about what it means to have positive self-worth, set boundaries, build a respectful self-image, and stay safe in today’s world. It’s more than a book, it’s a conversation and a safe space where girls can think, talk, and grow stronger together.”
This series is an incredibly creative and engaging gender-specific guide designed for teen girls ages 12 and up.
It includes a user-friendly, 14-session guided set of instruction that offers a comprehensive solution that promotes well-being, connectedness, and success. It helps develop self-awareness, self-management, wise-responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness. These competencies empower teen girls to practice self-regulated, positive behaviors that enable them to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life in today’s society. The series is ideal for in-school (as a health elective), or after-school programs, community organizations, home-based activities, and faith-based or mentoring programs.
The objective of the LTAB curriculum is to provide instructional strategies and real-life examples that help teen girls gain a deeper understanding of domestic violence (DV), identify its various forms, (e.g., bullying, bossing, controlling, controlling to lure into unsafe situations, verbal or physical abuse), within any type of relationship, and recognize (DV) and prevent it before it occurs.
These examples include scenarios that encourage positive behavioral outcomes among youth while addressing key health determinants, social influences, attitudes, values, norms, and skills that impact any form of relationship violence. This series also offers a guided approach that enables both adults and teens to comfortably discuss sensitive topics.
No teaching experience is required, the guide does the work for you! While adding your own insights based on personal or professional experience is encouraged, the series structured format helps facilitate discussions led by individuals, small groups, or instructors. Each session provides detailed, evidence-based facts, removing any guesswork.
